One thing all coaches become aware of are trigger points or reflexes.
Most, if not all my clients understand the importance of setting trigger points during the day to gage how valuable what they are doing is according to their overall goal. This has a two fold purpose for you, gaging the priority of what you are doing, i.e. if it is important and fits with your goals, and to give you a certain validation for what you are doing.
It especially works very well when we tackle things that are not second nature to us. Most of us would rather have root canal than to work on our marketing. Strange if you consider marketing is a great way to reach out to people and help their lives. Yet, we don't feel comfortable with it.
Setting reflex points during your day can look like this, reminders to stop and gage the work you are currently doing while asking crucial questions: "Is this important to what I need to do today?", "Is this aligned with my goals?", "What is the priority of what I am doing right now?", etc.
If it's not crucial, then leave it for later or delegate it. If you don't like it but know it's important, keep in mind how it serves your overall picture and what you are trying to achieve.
Sometimes little mind set shifts like this is all the difference between trudging along and understanding why you are doing.
Hope this helps!
