Coaching Training Can Be Tough!

Discuss on ooVoo

Yes, more about training and rightfully so, it is intensive in many ways.

As I wrote previously, I am enrolled through CoachU and Coaching Dynamics. Through Coaching Dynamics, we are doing a very intensive class with three other coaches. We have coached each other and received feedback. We have also started to coach a “real live” person and starting to get feedback. It’s tough hearing what you do wrong. It’s tough hearing you missed something but hearing what went right helps.

Hearing from professionals what I missed is the key. I get to hear it all over again through a recorded session and cringe. It goes very deep. It touches you at a very deep level. You question yourself and your deepest motivations. You are in a continual state of motion and digging through your thought process, your feelings and what drives you. Sometimes, it is scary and others… well you realize you are here to learn, like everyone else.

This specific training through Coaching Dynamics is excellent because we focus exclusively on presenting the ICF accreditation. It really trains us for that and we fine tune our coaching process. I think Barbara and Winston are on to something and judging by how they are being copied, so do others.

It can be tough at times, and it digs deep down in you. Without it, it would be superficial work and that is something I won’t have in a coach. I need a coach who has asked those questions presonaly and worked with them deep down inside. That is the fundamental part of being a good coach… again :)
