So what is job stress and how can we recognize it?
Job stress is any harmful emotional, mental and physical reaction when your professional and personal life do not match who you are, what you are and how you are. As we have seen before, we can go to the who to find who we really are but we can only work on the how to have a certain desired what.
Some of my closest friends have intense job stress and I feel they see it as challenges. And even then, when is too much, too much? If what they were feeling were challenges, shouldn’t they energize them instead of depleting them? Are they learning new skills and adding to their competencies? Besides testing the limit of their endurance, I don’t think putting up with stress does anything much but harm us.
I think too many people put up with stress believing they are challenged by work when all most would need is a different way of looking at their situations while aligning their professional desires with goals.
