Last night’s workshop went really well. I am excited about it.

I love hearing about people. It’s insightful to say the least. It also made me realize I would like to coach groups of people. I remember it being a challenge at school. How do you deal with so many different minds wanting different things? Somehow, you find the common thread and people have their revelations. That’s what coaching is about, people having their revelations.

As with anything, there are things I learned. First, I had the wrong address on the flier and considering it, everything turned out well. Second, no matter how much you read and reread your flier, there are things that you won’t pick up, i.e. the address. Third, the flier should have been a little more to the point. I wanted to cover to big a ground. My next one will be more targeted. I think I already have the main idea, Aspirations, What Are They? Or Aspirations, How We Go About Them, or something along that line.

This is definitely fun. All in all, I have enjoyed my previous ventures and businesses but looking back, I can’t say I loved them. I realize a little more every day, I love coaching. It’s beyond fun, I really like it deep down. It’s just an amazing feeling doing what you like and loving it. And that is another aspect of coaching, it helps you do just that, discover what you like and what you are good at.

Since it’s still January and everyone is still hot on resolutions, one ingredient we don’t always take into account is making for time for them.

We’re always filled with good resolutions. We make them for the beginning of the year and some stick, others don’t. How about giving ourselves an extra help to make sure they stick? Taking into consideration the time it takes to achieve our goals?

According to statistics, most people what to get in shape at the beginning of the year. Those who who succeed also plan the time into their schedule. In other words, wishing for it and desiring it are important parts but it will never materialize until you start acting on it.

I think the reason for the success and lack of for the movie The Secret is that it stressed the wishing part but not enough the acting part. Making resolutions has to go with scheduling time for them. If you want to have a clean desk, spend the last 5 minutes of your work day cleaning your desk. If it’s getting into shape you are looking for, then schedule a few hours a week, etc.
