More Coaching Fun Revelations, Long Beach

The more I do Coaching, the more fun it is, the more I love it.

It is so much fun being there with people as they discover about themselves, make big decisions and tackle projects. It feels so right. And I don’t have to tell anyone what to do or what is right!

Most of my life I have tackled a lot of different business ventures; translations, teaching, computers, real estate, to name a few, and it feels all of them built me up for coaching. I have always attracted confidences and people have come to me to talk since high school. I’ve always enjoyed it. Learning about coaching felt like a perfect match. I had no idea it would this great.

Coaching taught me some great things. I listen to people differently. I don’t listen to their accomplishment so much as I listen to them, who they are and how they are. I am happy for them, not their accomplishments per se. A friend of mine was telling about his accomplishments. I was happy he was able to make them and able to fulfill his dreams. That’s more impressive than the actual accomplishments.

As I watch this culture that tries to tell us it is more important to look a certain way than to discover what makes you unique, I marvel at people who take the time to find out about themselves and offer their uniqueness. They accomplish one of the greatest feast as humans, self discovery and self awareness. And think about it in the end, what is more important, look like you are “cool” or know who you are and truly, deep insight feel good about yourself? Most of my friends were the ones who were “different”. They didn’t fit with the latest trends, they were unique. That was the best present they give me.

Anyway, just another one of those grateful moments…

Robert Weil Associates Is No More In Long Beach

It’s official, Robert Weil Associates has closed its doors after 38 years of real estate service in and around Long Beach. After an unprecedented four decades of high quality services, defining the benchmark of professionalism in real estate, the business partners are retiring.

It’s one of the saddest posts I have ever had to write. How can I imagine Long Beach without Robert Weil Associates? How can I not fight to buy coffee for everyone again? Where will I ever feel the warm sensation of people sharing the same high standards and ideals? Maybe Sotheby’s or Christy’s. Those two companies have told me how we were alike in terms of prestige.

Robert Weil, the founder of Robert Weil Associates past away this year. The three other business associates are retiring after decades of this little Mom and Pop shop redefined real estate in Long Beach. It’s strange knowing I will never sit in those plush red leather seats again. I won’t walk into this elegant real estate office anymore. I don’t know where I will hang my license. There are plenty of great Brokers out there.

In the end things work out for a reason. This year I decided to go to to school and get my diplomas for my Business & Life Coaching practice. I had a choice for this year or this upcoming January classes. I chose October. I had no idea the practice would take off this quickly. I would like to continue working with Realtor’s as far as coaching. The experience I gathered from working with these top notch Realtor’s will be invaluable. And I feel more than ever Realtors need good coaches to help them through this turmoil.

So here is to Robert Weill Associates, the little mom and pop shop that defied the biggest names out there. And here is to when a door closes, many open. The standards we have upheld will now go into use in other offices. It will be a good thing to have these agents go elsewhere and infuse that knowledge.
