One positive aspect of a slowing down real estate market was that fly-by-nighters were going to leave the market.
Unfortunately, as the market continues to drag its feet, so are the good Realtors facing an exit strategy. I was sad to hear some Realtors I value leaving and looking for work elsewhere. There just isn’t anything happening. A quick survey in nice areas in Long Beach showed one sale per area the last 2 months in the above $1 million range. Hardly enough to make an office run.
Up until now I thought this situation would discourage the less than desirable elements of our profession away, but I am noticing fine real estate folks leaving. It’s sad because we will be left with the run of mill big faceless national companies who can endure month of in your face advertising and “another prosperous month for…”. Who are you kidding? And when most little private shops are closing doors, what will be left?
Thank Goodness Robert Weil Associates has almost 40 years of professional reputation to rely on and our returning clients are proof that we are doing the right thing. Making people come first. Seems like a strange business model these days, but all so worth it in the long run.
And I am also happy to offer Business Coaching services to Realtors who feel stuck. A little clever thinking now will open up a successful tomorrow.
