You can be enthusiastic about the hybrid market, half electric and conventional engine but one thing I cannot say about it is that the cars are usually not sleek and sexy.

Until, the 2008 Fisker Premium Hybrid Sedan stepped in and shook the conventions around. I was taken aback by the sleek lines, the feline curves and the Italian reminiscing lines. The car looks a little Ferrari, a little Alfa Romeo and little Maserati which clearly shows the Italians are the ones to follow.

So what’s new with this car? It will have a 50-mile range running on electricity alone. If you kick in the gas or diesel engine it will go 620 miles and get 100 MPG. Nice numbers.

At a sticker price of $80,000, it won’t be everyone’s idea of an hybrid but it will definitely leave the impression on everyone’s mind that those cars have a high end market. Interesting development.
